Hello Apple Users

Once, there was only one poker site that could be played from a Macintosh computer.  Mac heads were sad and poker challenged.  But now, many sites are starting to cater to the Macintosh user.  A couple of sites have Macintosh software specially designed for installation on an Apple.

At least one has bundled a virtual machine with their software package.  many poker sites are watching the reliability of this approach and hoping to become Macintosh compatible poker rooms with this method.

A larger number have invested in flash or java instant play features that can be used on all platforms.  So, if you are a Mac head, poker help may be on the way, or already here.

PokerStars is set to run a new online poker championship.  The Spring Championship of Online Poker (all stakes).  What makes this two week event special is that every event has three different games at different buyin levels.  Rather than just hold big championships for their high rollers, PokerStars is offering high, medium and low stakes offerings for each event.

Yes, the graphic is right.  $30 million in guaranteed tournaments.  Satellites are running now and the first games kick off on April 2nd.  They probably wanted to avoid April 1 so no one would think they were joking.

More about deposits

Looking around, I notice a lot of successful deposits by USA players using Credit Cards.  The irony is that the State of New Hampshire cannot let people buy lottery tickets with a credit card anymore, but I can put money on any online poker site that accepts credit cards.

Yep, well done lawmakers.  As usual you got it bassackward and wound up hurting the people you tried to deliver protectionism to.  Again, take a bow you horrendous windbags.  Go hold more hearings on baseball or something, at least you might not steal the public’s freedoms if you were busy doing even more pointless stuff.

US players play on

The UIGEA I mentioned last post was designed to restrict the ability of US players to move money onto and from online poker sites.  This was designed to protect campaign contributing horse racing tracks and state lotteries.  Lawmakers assumed that poker players would turn to horse racing and state lotteries online if they could make depositing on poker sites harder.

Stupid assumption, and ill-conceived attempt.  Because of their foolish law, New Hampshire’s state lottery can no longer take credit cards online.  Ha! the irony is rich.  Plus, I play poker, I see lotteries as sucker bets without good winning odds, like most poker players do.

Luckily there are plenty of funding options still available to US players.  My favorite is EwalletXpress.  There are many EwalletXpress capable poker sites out there, and I get to move my money around safely and securely.  free from the intrusive and misguided nitwits who claim to be doing the public’s will.  You heard me nitwits, get rid of your crappy law before we get rid of you.  People still vote, no matter how big your campaign contributions are, lose the people and you are toast.

What’s a UIGEA?

Prohibition throughout the ages has always been a great way to regulate behavior and impose morals on people who clearly cannot decide moral questions on their own.  It has worked so well in every case that The House of Crooked (congress) has decided that playing 2ct/4ct poker in your home is a moral outrage and they had to act to avoid the moral bankrupcy of America by evil online poker heads.

Just as alcohol prohibition and the war on drugs have eradicated both from our righeous society, so too has online poker vanished from America’s pure soil (except the soil with indian casinos, legal casinos, horse racing, and state lotteries.  They do not soil the landscape it seems).  I just want to thank our leaders for looking out for us while lining their pockets with campaign contributions from the non-soilers.

Ok, I kid.  Prohibition has never worked, EVER!   Online poker in the United States is just fine.  True, some online poker sites no longer allow US players, but there are still many US friendly poker sites to choose from.  So  have a beer and relax with your favorite online poker game.  I am off to introduce a bill in congress to prohibit all cursing.  I feel we need to eradicate another terrible evil.  I blame the French and their “sacre bleu”.  Peace out, and no swearing or the man will come and take you away!

Royal Flush Goodness

Carbon Poker has a nice, underpublicized bonus.  If you get a royal flush at any of their cash games, they will pay you 100X the big blind of that table.  So, if you hit a royal flush on a $5/$10 cash table, you would receive $1,000!

A nice little bonus that is seldom talked about or promoted, but still worth knowing that Carbon Poker does this sort of thing for their players without a lot of fanfare.
