Sadly, I did not make the points in the OFC game Sunday.  Thankfully, the rest of the Holdem Poker Chat team stomped the daylights out of every other forum.  We had players finish 1st and 2nd with 4 in the top 30.  A real fine ass whoopin!

While I was playing in the OFC, I started a couple $5k guaranteed games.  I busted out of the Bodog one pretty quick, and since I had Reefer open already I played their community freeroll ($2,500).  Well, 6 hours later I had won the Cake $5k for $950 or so, and I got 3rd in the Reefer freeroll for $202.

The day: Six tournaments and two ring games.  I cashed three of the tournaments and overall was up $5 for the two rings.  Net total for the day +1,168.  Ah, now if every day (or even one per week) could be like that!  I will play a couple games of interest today, but I anticipate no big risks as I bask in my recent accomplishment for a day or so.

Move along, Nothing to see here

I just was not into playing poker yesterday.

I played the OFC freeroll at Reefer Poker and the two league games, but not much else.  I did not fare well in limited action winding up -$12.05 for the day.

Nothing to report, just bummed around and did nothing really.  more games tomorrow

Bad News, Good News

The bad news is that I played 11 tournaments and 1 ring game and lost money in 9 of them.  Yes, not very good numbers.  But as Paul Harvey used to say: (is he dead?)

Now for the rest of the Story!

Of the three tournaments i cashed in, I won two of them!  The largest was the Bodog $6.60 turbo at 3 pm for a nice $91.80.  The rest of them with the one smaller win basically break even.  That left me up +$84.50 for the day.

But the one ring game was of interest.  Daniel Negreanu tweeted that he was about to sit at a .05/.10 ring game.  So I rushed over to PS and did “find player” on KidPoker.  I was bummed when I only made it to 1st on the waiting list, but miraculously one guy left!.  I dropped about $4 before he left, but I had to call a couple of his raises just to say I played in a pot with him.

Don’t believe me?  Like I would sit with Daniel Negreanu without taking a Screen Shot of it?  Ha.  Anyway, click the SS you doubters.  I am retiring for the day with my small profit and interesting experience.  chow.

Well I managed to play the Cake Poker $10k Bounty.  Sadly I did not fair well.  I managed only one bounty before getting whacked.

Thursday’s total is 5 tournaments and 1 ring game for -$37.50.  I played ok so no confidence hits, just ran into better cards at the wrong times.  Will try to right this ship today.  No big plans for what to play yet, I will just play it by ear.

Well I managed to get a couple of $11 games in but blew off the $33 game that I should play daily.  I had some stuff to take care of around the house so I did that instead of “work”.  So once again no big risk, no big reward.

Seven tournaments played.  Three cashed, though neither of the $11 ones were cashes.  Final tally +$6.02.  The largest cash was a Bodog Poker $6.60 turbo that I got 6th in for $23.52.

Just woke up, only three private tourneys lined up right now.  Will let you know if I find my balls and play something worthwhile.

I played some yesterday though I barely remember the games.  I wound up +$7.70 after 2 ring games and about 6 tournaments.  I think I cashed only one tournament but my risk level was so low that I still wound up positive for the day.

Again I find myself sliding into lower stakes when I had told myself that i needed to increase my risk some.  The big Sunday cash was great but the vacation has to end and I need to move forward.

I have been doing pretty good at Full Tilt Poker ring games late at night.  I am only playing 10ct/25ct blinds since my roll there is small, but I usually come out ahead.  I plan to continue there and hopefully increse my roll enough to move up in stakes soon.

I should put in an appearance in some higher risk tournaments today.  more on that tomorrow

Bit of a letdown day.  I would have been down $12 but a small bet on a preseason football game got me out of the day with only a $2 loss.  I played some, and mostly poorly.  Sort of a hangover from Sunday’s big win.

Six tournaments played, one ring game.  Cashed small in two of the tournaments and dropped half my bring in money in the ring game.

Time to refocus after spending most of the day in Crushingly Mundane (CM) tasks.  Food shopping and setting up a couple free computers for those less fortunate, though the gap between their fortune and mine is not all that great.

I only managed to play in five tournaments and one ring game on Sunday.  I made a whole $2.46 in the ring game and netted $1.60 in one of the MTT’s.  But you may recall this from yesterday:

“With the added risk in mind I am going to play the Bodog $100K guaranteed at 4 pm today.  I won a ticket to it by answering a twitter trivia question.”

Yes I played in the Bodog Poker $100k Guaranteed tournament Sunday.  I adopted a “never play” strategy.  I only played when the cards made me.  The tournament starts with 5,000 chips.  After the first hour I had around 5,400 chips.  After the second hour I had 4,500 chips.

I doubled up in the third hour to 9,200 chips but that was it.  With 74 people left I had less than 3,000 chips.  63 got paid so I was a bit glum.  Somehow when we hit the 63 players that cashed ($300), I had 30,000 chips.

I stuck to my “never play” strategy and managed to end up 9th!  Thats right baby, final table of a Sunday major tournament.  I got written up on news reports and everything.  Also the $1,700 for 9th is a pretty good payday for a micro grinder.  Total net winnings for Sunday +$1,691.96

I would like to thank Bodog Poker for the free tournament ticket.  You guys are awesome!

So here i sit waiting for Bodog’s twitter trivia question and hoping to get another ticket to the $100k guaranteed for free!  I will play a couple of forum games and may take a shot at a modest $33 bounty tournament.  More on that tomorrow.

A fair Saturday

Well, I did not play much of a schedule Saturday.  I did play quite a bit, but there were no high risk/reward games that I played.  My largest tournament cost me $5.50, and I played one ring game (10ct/25ct).   My total risk over 9 tournaments and 1 ring game was $35.45.  My total reward on these was $72.75 for a net profit of $37.30.

Its nice to make money, but really, I need to start increasing my risk if I want any kind of reward to show for it.  My best cash was winning the Holdem Poker Chat league game at Full Tilt Poker for $29.  With the added risk in mind I am going to play the Bodog $100K guaranteed at 4 pm today.  I won a ticket to it by answering a twitter trivia question.  Tomorrow’s update will have my results in that affair.  Cya!

Eleven tournaments played on August 21st.  I only cashed in two of them sadly.  However, If I played only those eleven, I would have been up almost $40.

Sadly I played a couple of cash games and ran into some of the most astounding beats.  Astounding for the amount of money they called down before they actually had any hope of winning.   Oh well, I just reinforced some calling stations for the rest of you all.

The end result fot August 21st was a sad -$10 loss.

Oddly enough, both my tournament cashes (1st and 2nd) came on Cake Poker.  It seems I can do no wrong on Cake.  Oh well.  Onward to the new day.  See ya tomorrow.
