I had a run of bad luck early in the day Friday. Things were looking down, yet I knew my play was solid. Maybe I have turned that corner where bad beats don’t send me off tilting and chip spewing. Time will tell that tale.
As for Friday, I won a small private tournament and grabbed $5 in a freeroll. That left me with the $22 7-stud MiniFTOPS #5. After a grueling 7 hours, I busted out 38th for $150. I wanted more, but some is better than none. That cash will allow me to play more MiniFTOPS games too.
Friday: 10 tournaments, 2 ring games. +$134.97
Money is good. Its nice to make money. Better for the confidence level is winning a tournament. Even better still is winning a tournament that is populated by all the best forum players. Then you get to rub it in and roll around in all the butt kissing like a dog rolling in filth. Ah yes, memories.
Yes, i won the Reefer Poker Stoners vs Staff game last night. Sadly I could not hunt down and slay any of the staff and guests who had a bounty on their heads, so I settled for winning the tournament. Unfortunately, I could not cash in MiniFTOPS #3, but at least I lasted more than 28 minutes. I managed to avoid donking off my chips for over 3 hours to no effect.
Thursday’s storyline: 8 tournaments, 2 ring games, and one sports bet. +$105.32. That helps my confidence and my monthly total is getting closer to break even. A lot on tap for Friday, will try not to suck.
“If you can’t spot the donkey at your table within the first 30 minutes, then its you”.
That was my Wednesday. Highlighted by lasting 28 minutes in MiniFTOPs #1. And it was 5k starting chips.
Poor play and dumbness. That was Wednesday. -$34.01 for the day.
Well, I played the HPC $1 Omaha game at Absolute Poker. I was not planning to play anything else all day. Then I remembered that I had to get 1 FTP at Full Tilt Poker to stay on pace for the Take 2 promotion.
I just could not seem to get that damn point. I kept opening 2 tables and playing but the web page did not display any points. It was only after I had played four sets of two tables that i realized that the website was over 1hr behind on updating. Doh!
So on a day I was avoiding poker I played about 8 ring games, albeit shortly on all of them. Daily total +$16.00 thanks to the ring games.
Back at it today, hoping to not suck
Nothing worked Monday. i played badly and got what bad players deserve…nothing!
Five tournaments and three ring games -$38.18. Taking a break of sorts for Tuesday. I will write a bunch of stuff and play only the Holdem Poker Chat League game tonight at 9 pm. I may skip updating if i do not play very much. Or I may just run my mouth to inflate my own feeling of self-importance.
Oh well. Spewing chips is probably an apt description of Sunday. My fault, I kept playing even after by AA got all in vs KK and he hit quad K’s. So I kept spewing and managed to run a full house into quads again. A horrendous day was saved somewhat by a college football bet but I still wound up -$22 for the day. Every cash game, every tournament turned to shit, no desire to recap them here.\
I will do some site work and maybe play a bit later in the day
So, I set my alarm yesterday to get up in time to play Ray’s added game that he graciously invited us to attend. I managed to win that $5 game for a cool $110. I should have quit playing for the day then.
I virtually lost the whole rest of the day. The tale of the tape is 10 tournaments, 7 ring game and a +$65.32 profit. Considering that I had a $104.50 profit after the day’s first game, not a good time was had by any.
I am expecting a bit of a Sunday letdown today since the last two Sundays I have profited over one thousand dollars. I doubt that I can keep that going, but it won’t be for lack of trying
Yesterday was productive. I accomplished exactly what I set out to do. I needed a nice positive day but not too much play since the weekend would be a lot of poker. A nice little confidence builder without overplay burnout. And that is exactly what I got.
Five tournaments and 4 ring games. The ring games were me just getting My points for the Full Tilt Poker Take 2 promotion, so the $4 profit all together was just fine for them. Modest gains in tournaments. I cashed in only two of the five, both of those were private games. My daily total was +$27.21.
So, modest gain, won 1 of the tournaments for the confidence boost. Now if I can just hit for 4 figures like the last two weekends
I had gotten a used computer that was significantly better than the one I had been using. Yesterday I finished loading my essentials on it and reconfiguring my desk space to accomodate two computers and three flat panels.
I still had time after all that for some poker, but not the will. I played one $4.44 PLO8 4-handed MTT on PokerStars. I stupidly did not see the 4-handed part when I registered. No luck there. I just did not feel up to anymore poker and retired to relax for the night.
Friday’s schedule is full so I will be back at the grind today.
Well after Tuesday’s debauchle I almost shut down for a day. I played some freerolls and the two Holdem Poker Chat league games and not much else.
I managed to win the Bodog HPC game but that was all the success I could muster. I finished the day +$4.97 and counted myself lucky to do so.
