Lately I have been playing in the under $10 multi-table tournament arena. After forays higher, it seems that this may be my natural area of play. Time will tell on that since I still intend to move up if the results show it as advisable.
Yesterday I ran about eight small tournaments. total buyin was $23 or so. My profit from them all combined was $66 roughly. I can live with that for now I guess. I do need to pursue the big opportunities when they are present, however.
I plan to take a shot at the $109 buyin $50,000 guaranteed that runs on Lock Poker at the end of the month. I won the ticket, so no pressure of a bankroll variety. I feel that i need a few more wins to compel me to move back up where I was during August and September.
The last few days I haven’t been doing much at all. The weekend was a disappointment but after that I have been posting daily profits. The bad part is these profits for each day are under $20. So a lot of play for not much pay. I am not sure what I will play today. I may just wait for the Reefer Poker Stoners vs Staff game later today. As well as a few private games. I don’t really feel “into it” this early for some reason. Probably the low returns the past few days are influencing this feeling.
Saturday did not go very well. I played a very limited buyin schedule because I had four miniftops challenge freerolls to play as well. Sadly, no buyin panned out and I think I got $2 from one of the freerolls. Saturday’s total was -$34.
Not wanting to spiral downward after Friday’s limited success, I mostly watched football on Sunday. I did play the three miniftops challenge freerolls and the Reefer Poker community freeroll. This is a $3k freeroll that they hold monthly if you are a member of their forums. Last month I banked $200 from it, so I was anticipating this game again.
The Reefer game did not go well, nor did the first two miniftops games. I was stuck playing the last freeroll without much prospect of a payday it seemed. But fate smiled on my freeroll skills. When the final table went heads up, we made a deal where I gave my opponent $12 of the first place money to not have to play it out. I had a pretty big chip lead. So a no buyin day with few prospects turned into a +$104 day.
Making a final table in a 900 player tournament was good for the confidence too.
Money is good. Its nice to make money. Better for the confidence level is winning a tournament. Even better still is winning a tournament that is populated by all the best forum players. Then you get to rub it in and roll around in all the butt kissing like a dog rolling in filth. Ah yes, memories.
Yes, i won the Reefer Poker Stoners vs Staff game last night. Sadly I could not hunt down and slay any of the staff and guests who had a bounty on their heads, so I settled for winning the tournament. Unfortunately, I could not cash in MiniFTOPS #3, but at least I lasted more than 28 minutes. I managed to avoid donking off my chips for over 3 hours to no effect.
Thursday’s storyline: 8 tournaments, 2 ring games, and one sports bet. +$105.32. That helps my confidence and my monthly total is getting closer to break even. A lot on tap for Friday, will try not to suck.
I just was not into playing poker yesterday.
I played the OFC freeroll at Reefer Poker and the two league games, but not much else. I did not fare well in limited action winding up -$12.05 for the day.
Nothing to report, just bummed around and did nothing really. more games tomorrow
